Marie-Theres Härtel grew up as a child of musicians next to the Tanzboden (engl. dance floor) absorbing alpine folk music into her soul. As one of the pioneers of "New Folk Music," she often blends traditional melodies with jazz and international musical dialects. Through her composition "Dachsteinklang," developed as part of the multi-year La Strada project "Signal vom Dachstein," she bridges these musical dialects, villages, and valleys of the Dachstein region. In doing so, she creates a universal musical language that resonates deeply beyond the region and the country's borders.
